The Commodity Operations Assistant reports directly to the HBBV Commodity Operations Manager. The role maintains close contact with customers, port authorities, ship owners, trucking companies and customs agents. In the role you daily monitor the IT systems of all relevant exchange markets and are taking care of the required automated documents, administration. The Commodity Operations Assistant replaces, when necessary, the Commodity Operations Manager during absence. The role requires a positive team worker with a no nonsense attitude and prepared to develop.
Duties
- Working accurate to ensure ongoing compliance with, Customs/ AEO and Exchange policies and procedures;
- Assisting with the administration of delivering in and –out commodities;
- Replacing Commodity Operations Manager when absent;
- Warehouse operations liaison;
- Agreeing and registration transport rates with hauliers;
- Taking care of road- and sea transports;
- Taking up deliveries from SDS, LG and ECOPS;
- Assisting with sampling and re-weighing of soft commodities;
- Daily monitoring relevant exchange market systems (LG, eCOPS);
- Sorting out questions concerning sales invoices;
- Checking incoming invoices;
- Invoicing job files;
- Chasing debtors;
- Reception coverage when necessary

The candidate
- HBO Educated (Preferable Harbour & Transport education);
- Logistics background is essential;
- Good in Dutch, English and preferable German;
- Ability to plan working time effectively to ensure maximum results;
- General administration experience in an office environment is desirable;
- Communicative;
- Good knowledge in the LME rules is essential;
- Negotiation skills – customer service awareness;
- Familiar with Dutch Customs regulations/ AEO;
- Problem Solving and Analysing;
- Decision Making and Judgement;
- Attention to Detail;
- Capable to work independent;
- Social capabilities;
- IT- and strong MS Excel skills;
- Proactive
